Clap if you believe....15 Minute Wonders

I believe!
One morning, early, long ago, I got a frantic phone call from my neighbor, she couldn't find her 2 year old Melissa.
We had talked about fairies in the garden, and I explained that humans are big and loud and fairies like soft and small.
We found Melissa sitting very quietly and small, back in the wild part of the garden talking to the fairies!

I had planned to leave room on this tag to stamp the sentiment, and I forgot in the heat of the cut and paste!

Atitude and Altitude!
You can sketch the files as well as cut.
I minimized the word to fit on the tag.
More details and almost daily inspiration at Quietfire Creations.

***TIP**
From the Silhouette Yahoo group

Ladies, if you have a cameo and it cuts great sometimes and then completely weird sometimes, you need to make sure there isn't still a piece of packing tape on your motor bos. It interferes with the sensor and can do exactly what you describe. Yes, even if you've had your machine for years it may still be there and may only cause an issue sometimes. Turn your machine off, slide the motor to the middle and look on the left side. It's kinda hard to see because it's a dark see through tape. If it's there, remove it and throw it away. Then move that box back and forth a few times, all the way to the end each time. Only do that with the machine off. If that doesn't solve anything let us know here and I have a few more ideas.
I’ve never had this problem, and sure enough- there was a piece of tape on there and I removed it!

Taking my time-Tip toe through the tulips!

You've seen the 15 minute version of this card.

My dear friend Chris' birthday deserved a bit more.
The background is paper inked by wiping up my desk.

At first I ungrouped everything, turned the circle into an oval and spaced the tulips around the oval.
On the mat.

The look was too symmetrical for my taste,  so I manipulated the tulips to look more hand drawn.
Metallic threat is woven through the outer cuts and a sequin added.
The little corner tulips were gold, colored with alcohol ink.
( I think they are bells, upside down!)

Stamp the sentiment in VersaFine Sepia and heat emboss clear.

Yes, it took awhile to create this card, and how long does it take to make a friend?
There is so much you can do with what you have!
Happy Birthday Chris!

WOYWW 300! Live Long and Prosper!

A hour ago there was nothing on my desk.
My plan was to show you an empty desk, and ask for your prayers as I prepare to enter into a time of silent retreat.
I decided last week to use this title, and then we got the news that Mr. Spoke was beamed up for the last time!
Then Suzanne sent me this weeks files.

Only for you dead deskers- raw photo, unglued unposed- my crafters soul laid bare on my desk!
May it be so for us all!

All these files are ON SALE- tho I heard the site has crashed !

Poetry Journal Monthly
don't come hungry!

Could be finished cards will appear Thursday!
The small neat pile of stuff middle right is the beginning what I need to take with me to taping three segments of Craft Corner, a local TV spot.

Forgive me if my visiting is sparse for the nest few weeks.

Poetry Journal Monthly March 2015- Strawberries - T is for Tuesday

Poetry Journal Monthly
is a place to share and enjoy poetry, poets, creative journaling and each other.
PJM has moved herself over to RainbowWeaves in honor of simplicity.
Guidelines are here.
Please join me in bringing more poetry, color, creativity and journaling into our world.
Give Mr Linky, below, some love and leave a comment for  a prize drawing of a
Quietfire Design rubber stamp.
This poem was copied from memory after a 30 day silent retreat.
I'm about to go back into silence as the earth is coming out of hers.

I was planning on re journaling this page, and it didn't happen, and so dear readers, please share with the poetry you have- it doesn't have to be fancy or right.
You want to share it and I want to read it!

Strawberries

Strawberries are too delicate to be picked by machine.
The perfectly ripe ones bruise at even too heavy a human touch.
And then I understood one day, that every strawberry I had ever eaten
Every piece of fruit
had been picked by callus human hands.
Every piece of bread
Every drop of wine
represents someones knees
Someones aching back and hips
Someone with a bandana on her arm to wipe away the sweat.
We cannot get away from the truth
that the only way we can live
Is to feed one another.

Alison Luterman

Strawberries are in season from Florida and so far this year are sweet and succulent!
My drink is a cranberry sour cherry juice, tart and refreshing.
I probably wouldn't pair them and it made a good photo!
